Maintenance Technician

Northeast Arc is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities & Property Maintenance team in Danvers!

Job Summary:
Performs preventive and general maintenance and repairs on equipment and properties to maintain physical condition and appearance of property, ensuring safety and compliance with all relevant regulations (EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA safety rules & regulation).

Major Responsibilities:

• Performs non-licensed maintenance and preventative tasks, including minor repairs in electrical, plumbing, appliances, flooring, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems.
• Manages inventory and upkeep of maintenance van and tools.
• Assists with snow removal and seasonal maintenance as needed.
• Paints and repairs interior wall finishes and minor flooring damage.
• Completes requests for hauling furniture, files, and boxes; moving and setting up appliances; and preparing rooms for meetings.
• Maintains building interior, equipment, fixtures, walls, ceilings, woodwork, and caulking.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in a maintenance role preferred.
• Technical school training or maintenance-related certifications a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

• Proficient in operating equipment such as snow blowers, lawn mowers, and hand tools.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, heating, and carpentry.
• Computer proficiency and ability to manage digital work orders.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Availability for on-call and weekend coverage.

Physical Demands:
This is a physically active role requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting items over 50 pounds.

Work Environment:
Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, mechanical parts, and loud noise levels is common in this role.

Job Type:
On-site work environment
Monday–Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm, with flexibility for emergencies and seasonal needs

Pay Rate:
$26.00 hourly
