The role!

Position: In-Home Support (IHS) Mentor
Location: Wakefield, MA
Pay rate: $20 per hour
Hours: 10 – 25 hours per week Shifts: Morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours available

Summary & Responsibilities

IHS Mentors are responsible for teaching life and social skills to individuals in a variety of environments using their home and community as the classroom.

  • Empower individuals in managing and exercising control over their Individual Support Plan (ISP)
    • Directly work with individuals on their ISP goals
  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living when necessary
  • Seek input from individuals and families; and respond accordingly
  • Help individuals to advocate for their needs and desires when necessary.
    • Recognize and support the individual’s rights to make decisions, choices, and the right to take risks
  • Supervisie overall medical health, nutrition, social and general welfare
  • Assist in the completion of assessments and other paperwork as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required (BA degree in Human Services or related field preferred)
  • At least 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is required
    • 3 years of experience preferred
  • A passion and dedication to supporting our people is a must
  • Valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record
  • Must pass company background and reference checks
