Responsibilities:
The Developmental Disabilities Assistant assists participant(s) to participate and benefit from Day Habilitation activities through the implementation of program routines, and other daily scheduled program activities; enhances participants’ independence, dignity and safety by assisting participant(s) in personal and self care activities and during transitions to and from program activities. The Developmental Disabilities Assistant is expected to perform job duties consistent with Opportunities for Inclusion policies and procedures and participant individualized plans and interventions.
Qualifications:

Associates Degree and 1-2 years of paid or unpaid experience working with people with disabilities or in a care giving/teaching role or H.S./GED with 3-5 years related experience.

Other Qualifications: Functional capability to lift, transfer, pivot and bear participant(s) weight in a safe manner. Able to work effectively within a variety of settings. Commitment to community inclusion and upholding the dignity of people with disabilities. Flexible and able to respond to a variety of requests.

Additional Info:
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 9 am-3:30 pm.
